That great juggernaut which is Science has demonstrated that we don’t really have free-will, that our so-called ‘decisions’ are made for us by unconscious parts of the brain a measurable time before we become aware of having made the choice.

Moreover, we appear to actually rationalize a choice we made automatically, after the fact. The high priests of Scientism use this little ditty as grist for the mill of the ‘we’re only machines’ theory of ourselves, and as part of the broader agenda of pushing the meaningless Universe philosophy.

But let me drive a coach and horses through that shitty ontology. (Ontology: the philosophical study of the nature of being, existence, or reality, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations. Wikipedia )

One of the few, and perhaps the only power I have, is the power to decide upon what to focus my attention.

Think about that for good while, and recognize the importance and enormity of it.
